Collages generally fascinate me with their absurdist Dada sensibilities. Anything paired with anything can create a new synergistic thing. It’s that simple and that profound. These have all started with my own Kindergarten tempera and newsprint paintings, which I cut into selected sections and then started a visual conversation by applying cut-out gestural figures, often reversed, and placed to suit the composition. In collaborating with my much younger self, I found old conversations leading to new ones.
